Brief Introduction:
Stainless steel spring wire is one sort of alloy wires which is different from carbon spring steel wire in wire industry, and it does have obvious advantages to meet special requirement in market for history. Stainless steel spring wire can be manufacatured for such sectors as spray spring, high temperature spring, pressure spring, tension spring, torsional spring, high strength spring, high fatigue spring, medical spring, non magnetic spring, battery welding and braiding spring.
Stainless steel spring wire properties include principal chemical components of Carbon (S), Nickel (Ni), Chromium (Cr), Manganese (Mn), Silicon (Si), Sulphur (S), Phosphorus (P), Molybdenum (Mo). Stainless steel spring wire should be provided excellent comprehensive property, especially for mechanical featrue (extremity of elasticity & strength and yield ratio), resistance to relaxation, anti-fatigue performance, physical & chemical properties (high & low temerature resistance, oxidation resistance and corrosion resistance).
Stainless steel spring wire conventinally includes three series, which are SS 200 series, SS 300 series, and SS 400 series. Among, SS 201, SS 202, SS 301, SS 304, SS 316, SS 410, SS 420, SS 430 are just the typical types of above series. Each series and each type has its different properties, physical features, environment application, target purpose and even price costs. From those series, SS 300 is actually the standard and outstanding one shows excellent performance and gets most widely use in world. Part of ss spring wires have magnetic property but the other has none available, that is due to the various crystal structure and chemical composition of the wire. SS 200 Series and SS 300 series are belonged to Austenite structure with nonmagnetic or weakly magnetic property, which is distinguished from SS 400 series of Martensitic structure with strong magnetism.
Stainless steel spring wire has two kind of delivery states on wire surface, one is called as shiny surface wire and the other dull surface wire. Actually that the SS spring wire with dull surface possesses slightly higher tensile strength than that wire with shiny surface due to the processing variety, and so that the former is mainly used in the place with higher demands for wire strength but with less requirment for wire appearance.
Stainless steel spring wire holds strong ability of anti-corrosion, good rust resistance and fatigue resistance in many applications as mechanics, electric utility, medical, hardware and more industry fields. For diameter size, there is variety from thin wire size of 0.08mm up to thick wire size of 12.00mm.
Stainless steel spring wire manufacturers in China are mainly located in the east and the south provinces. Due to the wide range of wire rods, stainless steel spring wire price always presents apparent difference from type to type and series to series in market.
